Order Up!

I recently got a job as a pizza delivery driver! The means in which I acquired this job was pretty strange actually. I was fully expecting a long search for a job like what I hear people complain about all of the time. The place I was hired was actually the first place I applied to. Well "applied" is not the appropriate word. What happened was I just so happened to call on the exact day that one of their chefs quit. Because he quit, they filled his position with one of their drivers, leaving the driver spot open. Ta-Da! Like fate, I just so happened to call in looking to fill the position they so desperately needed. I made the call and was scheduled to speak with the manager a week later.
I arrived to the establishment I already was familiar with. When I was younger, my parents would take my family and I on our bi-monthly trip to the DeAnza Drive-In Theatre. Before we went to the theatre, we would go to a family-owned pizza shop nearby called Chariot Pizza and it slowly became a tradition for our Friday nights.
I walked into Chariot Pizza and asked for a man named Julio. On the phone earlier that week I had given them my name and number and expressed my interest in the job. Upon arrival, I met Julio and sat down with him at one of the dining tables. He asked me about how old I was and if I had a car and a license. I told him that I am 17 years old and that I indeed had my license. Which was a total lie, as I had been driving my car illegally with only a permit for the past year. After confirming my age and legal driving status, he proceded to tell me about what kind of responsibilities I would have, which didnt surprise me. What did surprise me is that he started telling me that he wanted me to work that very night from five-close. I had to interrupt him with a very inconfident "Wait... so I really got the job????" He chuckled and said "Yeah, definitely!". I guess some people just get a lucky break every now and again. This time it was my lucky break with this job.
Since then, I have worked my first day and I'm scheduled to work even more. More details to come about the job! Stay tuned, my friends, and remember; Kittens Are The Enemy! :+)
